Title: Appointment of a service provider for conducting research on investigating the effects of the working environment on employee wellness (physical and mental health, and well-being) of the Pharmacy human resources in South Africa
The HWSETA wishes to appoint a service provider to conduct a research study that will contribute towards the update of the HWSETA’s SSP and the SAPC’s strategic objective, understanding the association between working environment and the employee wellness (physical and mental health, and well-being) of persons registered with the council, and come up with suitable interventions thereof.
The scope of work will focus on the following:
I. To investigate the impact of the working environment, professional relationships, workload, work pressures, policies, and any other relevant legislation on the physical and mental health of persons registered with the South African Pharmacy Council.
II. To investigate the outcomes of demographic and socio-economic factors on the employee wellness (physical and mental health, and well-being) of persons registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (e.g gender, age, race, location/province, position/occupational group, sector)
III. To establish the current impact of the physical and mental status of registered persons on their competence to practice.
IV. To establish if any of the health cases attended by the Committee are representative of the prevalence of mental health problems in the profession.
